Togo Update
We had a great time in Togo. We arrived safely on Tuesday night, after a 10 hour bus ride. We stayed in a Togo “hotel,” which was fine for our needs. We spent the first two mornings practicing drama, and team worship. We would then go out in the afternoon to minister on the streets through drama and dance. We drew some large crowds, and many people accepted the Lord, and there were a number of healings (see testimonies). On Thursday and Friday evening we also ministered at the church grounds (the Togo branch of Life Christian Centre is currently meeting outside on the school property). We had an extended time of prayer for healing at the Thursday service following messages from Pastor Bill and Pastor Mary Pat. On Friday evening, we split the congregation into three groups and the team taught them some of the foundations of the Christian faith and what it means to have new life in Jesus. Togo has a very high prevalance of idolatry and witchcraft, so the new believers were taught about freedom in Christ. We also did our best to pray over each person present. We traveled back to Ghana on Saturday. Today, Sunday, we fellowshipped at the main branch of Life Christian Centre. It was truly a celebration, as Pastor Samuel ordained Richard, the leader of the Togo branch, as a pastor. Also, the team was welcomed, and all the new members were given an African name. All in all, God is good.
Thanks for your prayers!
