Wednesday January 23rd: Nós chegamos! The Team arrives in Brazil

Nós chegamos! That means “We have arrived” in Portuguese! Led by Troy, nine of the members of the team walked into the São Paulo airport ready to be joined by the rest of the team. This year the Frontline Brazil team consists of 9 American team members and 6 Brazilian team members. This is the first time we have joined together as a team in this way! How exciting!

We were met at the Airport as well by our beloved Pastor Dirceu, director of Iris Ministries São Paulo. With him where Daniel, Janiel, Robson, Amanda, Jo, and Haylla, the Brazilian team members.

From there, we headed to the mission house in Heliópolis. When we got there we had a time of introduction between the team members, some powerful prayer, and time to get settled in.

Later in the evening we joined Pastor Bill and Pastor Mary Pat for a service at Casa de Jesus. Each member of the team gave a word of encouragement for the church body, Josh and Jo led the church in several worship songs and Pastor Mary Pat gave a moving message about trusting God for His best. As the service ended, many people came forward to receive prayer to be able to hear the voice of the Lord better.

As the church members were leaving, the Brazilian team members initiated a time of spontaneous worship that lasted for another hour! What a beautiful start to this trip!
