He Who Has An Ear

Do we have spiritual ears to hear our Commander?

The COVID-19 pandemic is complex. There are continuing mandates, opinions, directives, and governmental stances that can be overwhelming and confusing at times. However, those who are flowing with and in the Spirit of God will desire to FULLY EMBRACE what Holy Spirit is saying and doing in this hour. We believe He is highlighting the following warning in Revelation: “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church” so we can exponentially mature during this historic time. This command is written 7 times in Chapters 2 and 3 in the book of Revelation. This coincides with 2 Peter 1 “seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the TRUE knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.” The remainder of chapter 1 further explains this spiritual blessing, as the Apostle Paul reminds us. It’s critical that we hear and obey the voice of the Lord in this season.

As Colossians 2:8 states: “See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.” This is not only for our own safety and stability, but also so we are not foolishly leading others away from total consecration and dependence on Him. Our speech, actions, and attitudes will reflect our spiritual maturity in this season. We must consider what is in the Lord’s best interest for others, before we think of ourselves. This will influence what we think and what we do for others. This is true Kingdom living and releases our inheritance to walk in the promises of God. As you meditate on our “marching orders” in Mark 12:30-31, the Lord will wreck you with His undying love. He is ALWAYS first.

As we live our lives wholeheartedly for Jesus, we will mature more quickly. Our spiritual hunger for greater acuity and precision as effective worship warriors will increase. Since we know that Satan and his demons were disarmed at the cross (Colossians 2:15), we can be confident and bold as we stand on Ephesians 6:10-11, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.”

What would it take to walk in this fullness?

Ephesians 6:12-13 further explains what we are up against as soldiers in the Lord’s army: “For we do not wrestle (battle) against flesh and blood, but

—against principalities (top-ranking, chief, demonic beings)
—against powers (the next rank of evil officers)
—against the rulers of the darkness of this age (the next level of demonic leaders)
—against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (lower level spirits we deal with on a daily basis),

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

The Lord wants us to enforce what Jesus accomplished at the cross and gives us the supernatural ability to do so. We are under a new and better covenant and are called to stand in our authority as His sons and daughters. Walking in this empowerment demonstrates our love for Him. To do so, we must know, understand, and receive our covenant rights and blessings. Since Satan is a legalist, as well as a great imitator who counterfeits the authentic, there is a diabolical hierarchy that operates against us. His army is patterned like the holy angels, but with delegated dark powers. This should not frighten us; rather, this is intended to provoke us to “Be of sober spirit, be on the alert and vigilant, because your adversary the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8). Thankfully, we have (and desperately need) our active and persistent Great High Priest, Intercessor and Advocate, Jesus Christ. As stated in Hebrews 7:24-25 “Jesus, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently. Therefore He is able to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” What a promise!

As the accuser of the brethren is active against us, we must intimately commune with our God as our Father, Lover, and Chief Commander. It’s vital for believers to draw very close to the Lord, especially in these latter days (as seen clearly in Psalm 91 and Psalm 23). We have a very powerful enemy and we need to know how to navigate through all scenarios in 2020 and beyond. Revelation 12:10b-11 reminds us in this season, “the accuser of the brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night. And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.” We can easily declare and sing about this, which is powerful! The Lord desires for each one of us to be able to stand against the fury of the enemy, so we are known in Heaven and greatly feared in Hell, especially as everything intensifies. The enemy knows his time is short and is playing for keeps. Our “not on MY watch” declaration will be thoroughly tested as the Lord continues to prepare us to overcome. The maturing of belief and faith is essential as we step into the future.

The Lion of Judah is Roaring!

We are reminded in Psalm 18:33-34 that we need to be available and willing to be trained by the Master Warrior. We must believe that there is a need for the maturing of our spiritual weaponry in this continuous battle. As the Lion of Judah roars on our behalf, He deeply loves us and cares about our spiritual growth. “He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and sets me upon my high places; He trains my hands for battle, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.” The hind is a female deer. Its back feet will perfectly follow and step into the foot prints of its front feet as it moves forward. What a perfect picture of following our Master and Lord without hesitation. This metaphor depicts swiftness, agility, and precision, which are essential qualities for a wise warrior. As our hands are supernaturally trained to bend a bow of bronze,” His effective, targeted, and fiery arrows will be strategically released. What a joy it is to decimate the enemy’s plans with the dunamis power of our Mighty God. Psalm 144:1-2 echoes the same: “Blessed be the Lord, my rock who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle. My lovingkindness and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield and He in whom I take refuge, who subdues my people under me.” This training is part of the “All Hands On Deck ” order from our Redeemer, High Priest and All Powerful King Jesus. Living as overcomers pleases Him.

1 John 2:1-6 sets the stage for believers to live as overcomers in these last days: “My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin, and if anyone sins we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous, and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world. By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says ‘I have come to know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him; the one who says he abides in Him ought Himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.” For continued understanding, read the remainder of 1 John. The Lord is very clear about this and what He means about allegiance to Him.

To deepen our resolute stance before our Loving God, in the face of the accuser of the brethren, we are exhorted 7 times to LISTEN AND HEAR, as found in Revelation 2 verses 7, 11, 17, 29 as well as Revelation 3 verses 6, 13, 22When Jesus released His revelation to John on the Isle of Patmos, the Holy Spirit spoke eternal truths to the churches of Asia Minor which are totally relevant for us today. The enemy wants us to be blind to this revelation; the consequences are severe for those who resist and reject due to the enemy’s hold on them. Check out these two chapters to be persn encouraged and strengthened, so you can help rescue others.

This is all good news! The Lord has given us hope in standing against the ultimate evils of the enemy as stated in Psalm 121: 5-8, which reads “The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not smite you by day; The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forever.” May we trust Him fully with our lives, knowing that He is in control and knows what He is doing. May we wholeheartedly seek Him, repent, and surrender all control to Him, so that His believing voice becomes so clear. He wants us to see Him as the Lover of our Soul who cares about every detail of our life. Then, we will be able to receive Him fully as our Peace, Righteousness, Joy, and having done all, we stand firm (Ephesians 6:13b). Remember John 10:10b: “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” Be encouraged today!
