It ALL Begins and Ends with the Presence of God and Communion with Holy Spirit

Ahh, how good it feels to be back in Mozambique! The team arrived in the afternoon and was met by Pastor Jose at the airport. For our newest team member, Denny, it was an exciting introduction, and for the rest of the team a warm reunion. We headed directly to Centro Esperanza (Center of Hope) Children’s home in Maluana directed by our friend, Pastor Fernando, which we last visited in 2013. After greeting our contacts here, the team settled in for the night and gathered to commit our trip to the Lord with a time of worship and prayer. The presence of God was strong as we moved into intercession not only for the nation of Mozambique, but also for a dearly beloved ministry partner in India, Pastor Jacob. Pastor Jacob has been wrongly imprisoned, tortured, and persecuted for the past 27 months yet many are receiving new life and getting baptized in prison through his testimony! Hearing about the intense persecution he is facing gave the team a new perspective on what an honor and privilege it is to be here in Mozambique, freely sharing the Gospel and seeing lives transformed by God’s love!

The team awoke the next morning to the sounds of roosters crowing and traffic whizzing by on the nearby highway. We enjoyed a time of soaking and daily communion, followed by another anointed time of worship. There is something so sweet about spending the first hours of the day ministering to the Lord and getting into His presence. Andy felt a strong urging from the Holy Spirit for the team to wash Pastor Mary Pat’s feet as a way to bless and honor her as our team leader. Each team member had a chance to personally express their heart of love and appreciation for her, which included laughter, tears, and heartfelt hugs. This precious time ended with Pastor Mary Pat in turn praying for each of us to release new levels of God’s anointing and fire!
