This past February a small leadership team traveled to China to partner with Revival Chinese Ministries International. The three weeks that we were there we traveled daily across the border into the mainland transporting Bibles and teaching materials. Every day around 25,000 Chinese are coming to Christ in the mainland. As a result there is a great need for Bibles and discipleship materials.
The consequences for a Chinese Christian caught transporting these materials across the border can result in imprisonment, torture, and even death. If a Westerner is caught, usually the worst case scenario would be having your visa revoked and being kicked out of the country. It was a real privilege to be a ‘donkey’ for Jesus and pack the supplies across the border. Daily we would travel to the office, pack our bags, fill out entry forms, pray, and head for the border. The border crossings went very well for the most part and we would drop the materials off at a storehouse that the ministry had in the mainland.
After two weeks of transporting materials, twelve missionaries packed all the literature together and headed out by train for Shanghai to deliver our precious cargo to our contact there. Our contact was a wonderful woman of God who has been providing materials throughout China for the past 45 years. While in Shanghai we also had the opportunity to spend a couple hours walking through the dark back streets putting evangelistic tracts into bicycle bins, shop doors, window sills, and phone booths.
All in all it was a very profitable trip with about 7,000 Bibles/training materials being transported into the mainland. Several ministry connections were made that could open up the door for larger teams to travel to China and serve RCMI as needed. Thank you for your prayers as the trip was very smooth and effective.
